Neptune’s Rings
|
Neptune has 114% of Earth’s gravity. The most common elements found on Neptune are hydrogen, helium, water, and methane. In Neptune’s atmosphere it is 80% hydrogen,19% helium, and it conations a small amount of methane. Neptune has 14 moons, almost at all of the moons have a icy surface with planet tides. Five of them are called Triton, Nereid, Hippocamp, Despican, Neso, and Sao.
NASA sent the Voyager 2 on August 25, 1989 around Neptune, and found 5 moons, 4 rings and a “Great Dark Spot” on Neptune; but no probes have actually been on Neptune’s surface. Neptune’s surface is very icy, and if you were to stand of it you would immediately sink into its gaseous layers. Neptune has at least 5 rings that are made up of radiation and dust. In conclusion Neptune’s environment is not conductive to life. The temperatures and and pressures on the planet are way to extreme and vital for organisms to adapt to. |
